Our Impact

Our impact in school communities means teachers are able to teach, and students are able to thrive. Building lasting relationships is at the heart of everything we do. The work that takes place inside our schools strengthens adult-to-adult, adult-to-student, and student-to-student relationships.

From Adversity to Achievement

%

decrease in behavioral incidents and suspensions in PLC schools on average from 2014 to 2019

Everyone wants to feel like they belong to the community. By training schools in restorative practices like community building circles, educators have seen a significant decrease in behavioral incidents and suspensions throughout PLC partner schools. Our approach encourages school leaders and teachers to be reflective in order to respond to daily challenges, as well as promote a strong sense of community and belonging for students and their families.

“PLC’s training and support has inspired staff to model kindness, compassion, and understanding.  We’re asking the right questions now.”

From Punishment to Patience

%

increase in positive relationships between students and educators from 2017-2022

Positive relationships are at the center of joyful and resilient school and classroom communities. We offer schools a healing-centered model for relationship building and a restorative approach to discipline in order to foster strong and positive relationships among students, staff, administrators, and families.

We believe in the power of relationships to transform schools into joyful communities in which to learn and grow. Building strong and positive relationships are at the heart of creating a school climate and culture by centering the voices of students, engaging in practices to build relationships with and among our students, and valuing their identities and cultures.

“Due to PLC’s restorative practices training
and coaching, our kids are excelling, and the relationships in our school community are stronger.”
