About Us

We are the Positive Learning Collaborative. Since 2013, we’ve partnered with schools to ensure that every child develops the social, emotional and academic skills needed to succeed in school and life.

Our healing-centered approach is welcoming, culturally responsive, and recognizes the strengths of all people and communities. All children deserve equal opportunity to reach their full potential– and all educators should be equipped with the skills, tools, and mindset needed to make this happen. Through our healing-centered trainings and supports, we empower educators, administrators, and families to transform their schools into joyful communities by providing tools and resources to support everyone’s well being.

We hold ourselves accountable for delivering results, which is why we annually survey each of our schools to gauge our impact. But the numbers tell only part of the story. Ask educators, administrators, and families about PLC, and they’ll tell you they feel the difference the moment they enter the school–a place where everyone works together. Here, teachers are able to teach and students are able to thrive.

OUR MISSION is to bring equity to education by ensuring that every child has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

Our Full-Support Schools

Today, the PLC team provides intensive support to 35 schools citywide. In 2022, we expanded our approach to 120 additional schools, partnering with District 9 in the Bronx and District 31 in Staten Island to offer healing-centered professional learning.
